Fire in Izmir

On a recent afternoon, a fire broke out in the Narlıdere district of İzmir, around 4:30 PM local time. This particular fire ignited in a forested area near the Ilıca neighborhood. Local firefighters were promptly notified about the flames and smoke emanating from the site, prompting an immediate response. To combat the fire, an extensive team comprising three aircraft, four helicopters, 22 fire engines, six water supply vehicles, and three bulldozers was deployed.

“We worked swiftly and effectively to control the flames,”

a representative of the İzmir Regional Directorate of Forestry stated. Within two hours, the teams successfully contained the fire, and an investigation into its origin commenced thereafter.

Forest Fire in Muğla

A significant fire occurred in the Marmaris district of Muğla, which erupted at approximately 4:00 PM. Located near the Bosphorus area, the flames rapidly spread due to strong winds in the region. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, local authorities dispatched substantial resources to the fire site. Through coordinated efforts, the fire was brought under control within just 45 minutes utilizing both air and ground teams. Following the incident, officials announced that a thorough investigation would be launched to determine the cause of the fire.

The fire that started in the warehouse jumped into the forest

In the Söğütlü district of Sakarya, another fire broke out due to an initial blaze in a warehouse owned by the Forestry Directorate. The flames quickly spread to the surrounding forestland, exacerbated by strong winds. A robust firefighting unit consisting of 24 vehicles and 107 personnel, including a helicopter from the General Directorate of Forestry, was mobilized. After around four hours of intensive firefighting efforts, the fire was successfully contained. As crews continued their work in the aftermath, cooling operations were initiated to ensure that no residual flames would flare up again.

250 hectares of ashes in Çanakkale

In Çanakkale’s Ezine district, a fire broke out in agricultural land close to the villages of Kızılköy and Çetmi. The flames soon leaped into adjacent forest areas, spread significantly by gusty winds. A large-scale response was initiated, with seven aircraft, six helicopters, 23 pumper trucks, five water supply vehicles, four dozer units, and a contingent of 182 personnel mobilized to tackle the fire.

“We have suffered substantial losses as a result of this fire,”

stated Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman during a briefing at the Dardanos Fire Management Center. Governor Toraman urged the public to take additional precautions, underscoring that over half of fires in recent times have been attributed to human negligence.

The fire in the barley field in Uşak grew

On a similar note, in the Uşak province, a fire ignited within a barley field around 2:00 PM. Witnesses to the initial flames quickly alerted the relevant authorities. A helicopter and an array of firefighting personnel were dispatched to the scene. The team launched both air and ground interventions to tackle the escalating fire, which continued to spread.
