Forest Fire in Muğla

A significant fire occurred in the Marmaris district of Muğla, which erupted at approximately 4:00 PM. Located near the Bosphorus area, the flames rapidly spread due to strong winds in the region. Through coordinated efforts, the fire was brought under control within just 45 minutes utilizing both air and ground teams. In the Söğütlü district of Sakarya, another fire broke out due to an initial blaze in a warehouse owned by the Forestry Directorate. A robust firefighting unit consisting of 24 vehicles and 107 personnel, including a helicopter from the General Directorate of Forestry, was mobilized. After around four hours of intensive firefighting efforts, the fire was successfully contained. As crews continued their work in the aftermath, cooling operations were initiated to ensure that no residual flames would flare up again.

250 hectares of ashes in Çanakkale

In Çanakkale’s Ezine district, a fire broke out in agricultural land close to the villages of Kızılköy and Çetmi. The flames soon leaped into adjacent forest areas, spread significantly by gusty winds. A large-scale response was initiated, with seven aircraft, six helicopters, 23 pumper trucks, five water supply vehicles, four dozer units, and a contingent of 182 personnel mobilized to tackle the fire.

“We have suffered substantial losses as a result of this fire,”

stated Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman during a briefing at the Dardanos Fire Management Center. Governor Toraman urged the public to take additional precautions, underscoring that over half of fires in recent times have been attributed to human negligence.

The fire in the barley field in Uşak grew

On a similar note, in the Uşak province, a fire ignited within a barley field around 2:00 PM. Witnesses to the initial flames quickly alerted the relevant authorities. A helicopter and an array of firefighting personnel were dispatched to the scene. The team launched both air and ground interventions to tackle the escalating fire, which continued to spread.
