Canadian Woman Ordered Deported After Alleged Attack Over Trump and ICE Pants

News EditorBy News EditorAugust 6, 2026 U.S. News 4 Mins Read

A Canadian woman accused of striking a teenager over pants displaying the words “Trump” and “ICE” has been ordered deported to Canada. An immigration judge in Texas issued the removal order on August 4, after authorities said she had overstayed a U.S. visa. The alleged assault occurred on a New Jersey boardwalk during the Fourth of July weekend.

The Department of Homeland Security said immigration authorities will return Kaitlyn Tracey to Canada as soon as possible. Tracey, 33, faces criminal charges in New Jersey related to the alleged confrontation, while the immigration case proceeded separately.

Immigration judge orders removal to Canada

An immigration judge in Texas ordered Kaitlyn Tracey removed to her home country of Canada on August 4. The Department of Homeland Security said the order followed immigration proceedings in which Tracey received due process. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is expected to arrange her return after the order is carried out.

The immigration decision does not resolve the criminal allegations filed in New Jersey. Those allegations concern Tracey’s reported interaction with a group of teenagers at Point Pleasant Beach, a popular coastal resort town.

Alleged confrontation on the New Jersey boardwalk

Police said Tracey approached the teens on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk during the Fourth of July weekend. Investigators allege that she objected to one teenager’s patriotic-colored sweatpants, which displayed the words “Trump” and “ICE.”

According to the allegations, Tracey yelled at the teenager before striking her. The incident prompted a police response after a report that a woman had hit a juvenile in the busy beachfront area.

Charges and evidence described by police

A probable cause affidavit states that Tracey allegedly slapped the teenager across the face and body. Investigators said surveillance footage appeared to show two open-handed strikes, one to the face and another to the body, before the woman left the scene.

Tracey was arrested several days after the alleged incident. Prosecutors charged her with endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment and obstruction. The allegations remain claims, and the criminal case is separate from the immigration removal order.

Visa overstay and immigration proceedings

DHS said Tracey entered the United States in April 2024 on a visa that expired on September 6, 2024. Authorities said she remained in the country beyond that date and failed to depart.

The visa overstay became the basis for the immigration case that led to the Texas judge’s order. DHS said Tracey was ordered removed to Canada after the court process and that officials would seek to complete the transfer as soon as possible.

DHS response and next steps

DHS said immigration authorities are pursuing the case under the administration of Donald Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin. The department characterized the arrest and deportation as part of its broader enforcement priorities involving noncitizens accused or convicted of crimes.

“If you come into our country illegally and break our laws, we will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you,” a DHS spokesperson said.

The department did not provide a specific date for Tracey’s departure. Her return to Canada is expected to occur through immigration enforcement procedures while the New Jersey criminal allegations remain subject to the state court process.
