Oklahoma Man Arrested Three Times in 12 Days Over Alleged Attacks on Women

News EditorBy News EditorAugust 17, 2026 U.S. News 5 Mins Read

Jeff Kufi Asare, 26, was arrested three times in 12 days in Oklahoma City in connection with allegations involving sexual assaults and attacks on multiple women. The latest arrest occurred Aug. 12, when he was booked on a first-degree rape charge and held on a $75,000 cash-or-bail bond. State charges had not yet been filed because police were still investigating and had not presented the cases to prosecutors. Court records show at least seven prior misdemeanor convictions, including three for breaking and entering.

The cases began with an Aug. 1 arrest following a possible rape call and continued with additional arrests involving a downtown park and the Lake Hefner Trail. Authorities said the allegations remain under investigation, and the charges described in the records are not proof of guilt.

Three arrests in less than two weeks

Oklahoma City police first arrested Jeff Kufi Asare on Aug. 1 after responding to a possible rape report. He was booked on probable-cause allegations of felony sexual battery and felony indecent exposure. The incident report described reported offenses including attempted forcible rape and forcible fondling.

Five days later, officers arrested Asare again after responding to reports of sexual assaults involving multiple women at a downtown park. That booking involved probable-cause allegations of attempted kidnapping and felony sexual battery, along with two city assault-and-battery citations. He was arrested a third time on Aug. 12 and booked on a first-degree rape charge.

Allegations connected to Oklahoma City locations

The reported incidents involved public areas in Oklahoma City. The downtown park case concerned allegations involving multiple women, while the latest reported incident was connected to the Lake Hefner Trail. Firefighters reportedly alerted police after seeing Asare allegedly restraining a woman on the trail.

The locations and circumstances are part of separate investigations involving the same defendant. Authorities have not announced final findings, and the available records identify the allegations as probable-cause matters rather than adjudicated offenses.

Investigation and bond proceedings

Police said the Aug. 12 incident report was not complete for release. The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office said state charges had not been filed in any of the three cases because investigators were still working on the matters and had not yet submitted them to prosecutors.

Judges set Asare’s bond at $50,000 on Aug. 5 and again on Aug. 10. After the third arrest, prosecutors asked a judge to increase the bond to $75,000. Jail records listed the later bond as cash-or-bail and did not show a release date.

Prior convictions and court history

Court records show that Asare’s name appeared in at least 18 Oklahoma County court dockets since January 2023. The total included probable-cause proceedings, misdemeanor cases and a pending civil lawsuit, with some probable-cause files connected to later criminal cases arising from the same arrest.

The records show at least seven misdemeanor convictions. Three involved breaking and entering. Other convictions involved resisting an officer, shoplifting, trespassing and marijuana possession. Asare pleaded guilty to resisting an officer, shoplifting and trespassing in September 2023, then pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and marijuana possession in November 2024. Additional breaking-and-entering convictions followed in October 2025 and April, according to the records.

Next steps in the cases

The police investigation will determine which allegations are presented to the district attorney’s office and what state charges, if any, are filed. Prosecutors indicated that they expected to act after receiving the completed cases from police.

The recent arrests follow earlier court dispositions, including 45 days in jail in the October case and 30 days in the April case, with credit for time served in both. Asare also enrolled in a court-ordered outpatient program after prosecutors dismissed a 2025 trespassing and obstruction case. In a separate 2024 matter, he missed a hearing and a judge issued a bench warrant.

Summary

The three arrests place Jeff Kufi Asare at the center of multiple active investigations in Oklahoma City.
